BAD TIN RABBIT CAGE
Example of BAD tin wire rabbit cage |
All these things cause stress for the rabbit which can lead to death.
We recommend a litter tray and pet fenced area in the house with an outdoor enclosure for part of the day like a chook house made of wood and wire or a rabbit cage made from pet fencing joined into a rectangle with a shelf and covered area. Both can be dragged around the grass to create a fresh area of lawn to eat and hop on. Mosquito wire can be attached to protect rabbits from mosquitoes which cause myxomatosis.
Rabbits make great HOUSE pets. www.rabbitsanctuary.com.au is in NSW and makes a great place to start looking for a pet rabbit to adopt.

Jersey Cows, Calves, Bulls, Steers - Rare in Australia
The Jersey cow is a sight you seldom see in most parts of Australia. Many people love them due to their quiet nature and enormous milk producing characteristic. One cow can produce over 20 litres of milk per day which is enough for a calf or two and also some for the house.
Jersey cattle are becoming very rare in Australia. This rarity is due to the commercial beef and milk industry mixing breeds of cattle to try to breed a super cow! They believe that if they breed the Jersey with a beef breed they will get the best of both worlds: meat and milk producing capabilities. This has meant the demise of many pure breeds in Australia and other parts of the world.
