BAD TIN RABBIT CAGE

An example of a BAD Rabbit Cage.  NEVER BUY a cage like this one in the photo.  Tin cages get HOT in the sun and BURN.  Tin and wire cages like these have wire on floor to hurt feet constantly as bunny moves around.  Tin gets COLD in winter causing the rabbit to be in discomfort.  This cage is too small for your rabbit to hop around as it would in nature.

All these things cause stress for the rabbit which can lead to death.

We recommend a litter tray and pet fenced area in the house with an outdoor enclosure for part of the day like a chook house made of wood and wire or a rabbit cage made from pet fencing joined into a rectangle with a shelf and covered area. Both can be dragged around the grass to create a fresh area of lawn to eat and hop on.  Mosquito wire can be attached to protect rabbits from mosquitoes which cause myxomatosis.

Rabbits make great HOUSE pets.  www.rabbitsanctuary.com.au is in NSW and makes a great place to start looking for a pet rabbit to adopt.
